Like most parents, you likely want something that will impress your little one but not take hours and hours and cost too much dwarf gold. Here’s some ideas:
– Hanging Fairy Flowers: Make tissue paper flowers of various sizes by folding up tissue paper and cutting both ends into points; gather in the middle and hang from the ceiling, light fixtures, or tape to the walls.
– Garland Garden: get some garlands of flowers/leaves from Michael’s or a dollar store and hang around the room. Add some white twinkly fairy lights for a bit of magic!
– Magic Palace: get some green or pink chiffon or other sheer fabric (can be found inexpensive for sarees in Little India), and drape around the room, creating a completely enclosed magical space. You can either gather the fabric so it is hung like in garlands with fairy lights behind, or hang in its full widths to completely cover the walls and ceiling, pinning or taping into the edges between ceiling and walls. Add a few flowers and lights, and ta-da! Very transforming!
– Lights Enchanted: One of our most favourite parties was in a room which had all the lights off except for coloured fairy lights (small christmas lights) draped around the room. There were a few flowers around, but the lights really created a wondrous feeling for everyone who entered.
Do let us know imaginative ideas you have encountered, and good luck decorating your palace!
