What ages are best for this?
The parties are designed for girls aged 3-6 years old, and are ideal for that age group. Seven-year old girls (or even older!) like it as well, although it usually work best to have around 10 girls of that age.
My daughter is only three. Is this suitable?
Absolutely! Considering that three year olds have shorter attention spans, we can provide a highly interactive, movement–oriented party that will keep little ones entertained and wanting more. The one-hour Fairy Magical party is usually best.
Are your parties suitable for boys?
Although the types of activities we have are more focused on the interests of girls, we do have costumes for boys, as well as exciting parts in the story, and an inclusive attitude about having girls and boys. However, sometimes boys are not as receptive to the fairy theme, and it is a good idea to have a separate “dragon slaying” area, games or a movie for them if they do not want to participate. Having smaller numbers of boys usually works best. Boys up to five are usually fine, but six and over may not be as engaged.
Do you go to Tallahassee? (Or Kalamazoo, or…)
Yes! We will go almost anywhere, although added fees will apply.
Can I have the party outdoors?
Definitely – the outdoors, after all, is where the fairies live. However, in order to protect the costumes, the designated area must be clean and preferably dry. Damp is okay too, if it is on clean grass or a deck and you are able to provide a large blanket for children to sit on.
Can I have the party indoors?
Absolutely! It will be just as fun and magical. The photos are mostly outdoors, as they were taken in the summer, and, well, they look lovely!
Can I take photos?
Please do! And if you have a good one, please share, we love to see snapshots of the magic of the day.
Up to how many children can you accommodate?
For parties, we can accommodate up to 30 children, although for the best possible fairy experience recommend a smaller group. Face Painting takes on average 2-3 minutes per child, or 4-6 minutes for more detailed designs, so more time is needed when there are more children. At events, if there are over 20 children, please provide a microphone for Storytelling.
What do you need for set-up and space?
For space, we will need either a living-room or play room type space with a clear floor area for the children to sit on. Outdoors, we will need a large enough area for the children to all sit down, with space at the front for the Fairy. The face painting is best done in a kitchen or area where a bit of glitter on the floor is easily cleaned up, and will need a table and two chairs. The entertainment will need a chair for the Fairy, a chair for the birthday child, and a third chair, or small table, for some props. If it is very sunny and hot, then a shaded area is ideal for both fairy and children alike.
Can children eat while wearing the provided costumes?
You are welcome to serve snacks, although in order to protect the costumes, we ask that no meals are served, and non-staining snacks only (e.g, no cherries, cake, cheetohs, or strawberries). Please note that if these guidelines are not followed and a costume becomes no longer usable, you will be charged for the replacement value.
Can the children do crafts during the party?
A craft is a wonderful addition to the party, although please have non-messy crafts while children are wearing the provided costumes, and no painting please. Ie, no glue or paint, thank you! The same conditions apply as above.
What happens during face painting? Do we need to do another activity during that time?
As you probably know from events, face painting is for one child at a time (although many like to watch). This is a good time for the children to be dressing up, or you can provide a craft or game for them to play. However, they are usually more than happy playing amongst themselves, and get excited and inspired by the costumes they are wearing.
Do you do princess parties?
While all our parties have a visiting Fairy character, the costumes the children wear are a wide variety, including princesses. Also, the stories have a variety of characters, and can include a princess upon request, and the certificate for the birthday child can be your choice of Fairy or Fairy Princess (or Elf!).
Do you do Tinkerbell?
Similar to princess parties, we have our own visiting Fairy characters, and children are more than welcome to create a Tinkerbell character for themselves, or have a Tinkerbell theme to the party. However, we don’t use Tinker Bell® or Disney® stories – we love to create our own original World of Fairy.
What type of face paints do you use?
We have a variety of professional-quality face paints and cosmetic glitter, and all are with FDA-approved ingredients for your child’s safety and your peace of mind.
How do I wash it off?
They are best removed with warm water, soap or cleansing cream, and a facecloth. Because the paints are high-quality, some paints have high pigment. If there are any staining areas, apply some moisturizer and leave on for a few minutes, then wipe off.
